Rtn. J Dhinesh Babu B.E (Civil)
District Governor
Rtn. J. Dhinesh Babu B.E (Civil), an active Rotarian since induction, was born in 1971, from a reputed business and philanthropic family in Ramanathapuram. His journey in Rotary started in the year 2000 by joining Rotary Club of Ramnad. He has been actively serving the community as a Rotarian for the past 24 years. He has chaired many events of our district and has attended Rotary International Conventions at Bangkok and Singapore. He is a successful entrepreneur managing a cinema theatre and a restaurant in Ramanathapuram. He started two Rotary Clubs — Rotary Club of Kilakarai and Rotary Club of Rameswaram — in Rotary non-existent areas, and also founded the Inner Wheel Club of Ramnad during his first presidential period (2008–2009).
Rtn. AKS V R Muthu
End Polio Now Coordinator – Zone-5 (2025–27) District Governor (2022-2023)
PDG Rtn. AKS V.R.Muthu was born to Mr. V.V.V. Rajendran and Mrs. Jegathambal on October 6, 1953. His schooling happened at K.V.S. Higher Secondary School, Virudhunagar, Tamil Nadu and his PUC was at St. Joseph College, Trichy, Tamil Nadu. He graduated as a Bachelor of Commerce from M.M.K. College, Mumbai. He started his career as an intern, who practised auditing under Auditor K.V.Ramasamy (Chennai) for 3 years. 1978 was when it all began. He entered his family business of manufacturing and marketing Gingelly Oil. Rotary International attracted him as an incredible organization that operates on the idea, “Service Above Self!”. He became a Rotarian in 1981 and feels that his life became more meaningful after that.
Rtn. Dr R Asokan
District Governor (2001–02)
Dr R. Asokan, M.B.B.S, M.S. was a charter member of our club. He went to USA for further studies and worked as a Surgeon in St. John`s Hospital, Detroit. He returned to India and treated a number of rural patients for a meagre amount of One rupee (nearly one cent) from 1982-83. He served as District Governor during 2001-02. He obtained a number of matching grants projects. In maintaining the health and disease prevention, arranged Measles vaccination for 75,000 children. Provided Sewing machines to the below poverty rural population to improve their economic growth.

Artificial Limb Camp
Seven artificial limb camps were successfully conducted before the COVID-19 pandemic. Out of 226 registered individuals, 168 beneficiaries were identified and 170 artificial limbs were distributed, including below-knee, above-knee limbs, artificial hands, and calipers.

Global Grant – Mobile Eye Clinic
Rotary Jegathambal Rajendran Mobile Eye Clinic operated across RID 3212. 72 camps conducted, benefiting over 1,000 individuals through screenings, free cataract surgeries, and spectacles.
Artificial Limb Camp (Post-COVID)
Conducted with Jaipur Foot (Hyderabad), where 112 artificial limbs were distributed to beneficiaries within five days at a cost of ₹5 Lakhs.

Pediatric Heart Surgery
The Rotary Club of Virudhunagar, in collaboration with the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi, has conducted screening camps to identify children with congenital heart disease. For 30 children heart surgeries have been successfully performed by the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, with all the children leading normal lives and continuing their education.

Pediatric Heart Surgery
The Rotary Club of Virudhunagar, in collaboration with the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Kochi, has conducted TWO screening camps one in Virduhunagar and other in Ambasamudram to identify children with congenital heart disease. For 57 children heart surgeries have been successfully performed by the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, with all the children leading normal lives and continuing their education

Drug Abuse Awareness program
Drug abuse silently damages health, careers, and relationships—often before the warning signs are noticed. This program helps engineering students understand the real consequences of substance abuse and the power of informed choices.
Maternal and Child Health Care Program
The Maternal and Child Health Care Program was successfully conducted at the Primary Health Centre, Kannicherrypudhur. The initiative focused on ensuring the well-being of mothers and children through health check-ups, guidance, and awareness.
Cervical cancer Vaccination
Free cervical cancer vaccination was successfully provided to 159 girls as part of this completed initiative. The program was jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Virudhunagar and the Inner Wheel Club. This project marks a meaningful step toward preventive healthcare and women’s well-being in the community.
Mobile Eye Camp
A Mobile Eye Camp was successfully conducted at the rural village of T. Kallupatty. Free eye check-ups were provided, and spectacles were distributed at no cost to those in need. The completed program improved vision care access and raised awareness about eye health in the community.
